The design of the image is taken from the NT$6 stamp of the New Year’s Greeting Postage Stamps (Issue of 2019). The design features coins and rats suggesting the auspicious idea of counting one’s money as a new year arrives and an abundance of wealth.

Engraved in the upper part is the logo of Chunghwa Post CO., Ltd.”; below this, the Chinese characters reading “Chunghwa Post CO., Ltd.”; and below that, “Ag999” and “1oz.” The traditional Chinese characters reading “Mintage Undertaken by the Central Mint” are engraved bottom-most.

To welcome the arrival of the Year of the Rat, this Post has specially issued two types of the Money Rat Fine Silver Ingots. There are 6,000 pieces for each type. Their themes derive from the designs of the NT$6 stamp and NT$13 stamp of the New Year’s Greeting Postage Stamps (Issue of 2019). Also issued are 7,700 sets of the Money Rat Fine Silver Ingot Premium Edition (including both types of ingots) and 300 sets of the Money Rat Collectable Set of Pure Gold Ingot, Fine Silver Ingots and High Relief Copper Medal (including both types of silver ingots). The exquisite engraving and the fine casting method of this ingot in a special limited-edition minting make it a highly collectable artifact with a commemorative meaning.
