The year 2005 coincides with the Chinese Zodiac year of the Rooster. The Chinese words for ” Rooster” and ”Luck” are homophones, and by association, the rooster has come to symbolize good luck. The design features a rooster as it proudly surveys its domain: the image of prosperity. The chicks beside it represent lasting peace, fortune and prosperity. The images of the rooster and chicks are taken from a painting by the renowned Taiwanese artist Mr. Ke-chei Chang. |
