The Year 2009 is the Ji Chou Year of the Ox. Cattle were the primary labor force for cultivation in Taiwan throughout its agricultural stage of development. Cattle are held in high esteem for being resolute, industrious and having great endurance, traits for which people are enduringly grateful. This image of the Chinese Zodiac was designed and executed by Professor Chang Ker-chi.

The Cihou Lighthouse is located on Mount Cihou in the Cijin District of Kaohsiung City on the southwestern coastline. It was first built in 1883 and was rebuilt at its present location between 1916 and 1918. Now, it is classified as a National Third Class Monument. The image was extracted from the book, "The Beauty of Monuments and Sites in Taiwan."
