Its theme derives from the design of the Tiny Blade of Grass and Spring Sun stamp of Chinese Idiom Stories Postage Stamps. It depicts “The Song of the Wandering Son,” a poem by Tang dynasty poet Meng Jiao. The thread in the hand of a loving mother goes into the clothes for her wandering son. She makes the stitches tight before he leaves, worrying it might be a while before he returns. Children receive so much from their parents that it is hard to expect them to repay it in kind.

Engraved in the upper part is the logo of Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd.; below this, the Chinese characters reading “Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd.” and “9999 Au” and “10 g.” The traditional Chinese characters reading “Mintage Undertaken by the Central Mint” are engraved bottom-most.
