The Year 2014 corresponds to the Chinese lunar year"Jia Wu,"and the Chinese Zodiac Year of the Horse. The docile temperament and excellent running speed of the horse have made it invaluable to man since ancient times. For thousands of years horses have been used for transportation, carrying loads, farming and even in war. A great number of Chinese proverbs feature the horse as a powerful symbol.

The image features Beigang Chaotian Temple, also known as Beigang Mazu Temple, located in Beigang Township, Yunlin County, Taiwan. It was constructed in 1700 A.D. during the Qing Dynasty in the 39th year of the Kangxi Emperor, giving it more than 300 years of history. It is classified as a national monument of Taiwan.
