The design shows a sow leading her litter through the meadow, symbolizing the Chinese saying, “Everything reaches utmost perfection”. In this heart-warming scene, the sow enjoys the grasses while the piglets, who have eaten their fill, frolic beside her. The design illustrates the teaching that by adopting the pig’s attitude of contentment and bliss (symbolized by the sow’s round body), all manner of good fortune will follow; thus, “Everything reaches utmost perfection”. The pigs are gilded in 999.9 gold, increasing the brilliance and value of this coin. The outlines of Taiwan and Mount Yu, the highest mountain in Taiwan, are displayed and viewed within rhombic latent image when turning the coin slightly to the right and the left respectively. |
